Sonoma Tutors was created by a dedicated group of high schoolers who wanted to give back to their community. Our mission is to provide accessible, engaging, and highly effective tutoring for elementary and middle school students.
We believe that peer mentorship is one of the most powerful ways to learn. Because our tutors are older students who have recently sat in the exact same classrooms and learned the exact same material, we are able to connect with younger students on a level that traditional tutoring centers simply can't match. We aren't just tutors; we are role models, study buddies, and mentors.

Cooper Meyer
Co-Founder & Tutor
As the coach of a local FIRST Tech Challenge robotics team in Healdsburg, Cooper is deeply passionate about STEM education and making difficult subjects accessible to students of all ages. He believes that with the right guidance, anyone can master complex math and science concepts. Whether he is building robots or breaking down a tough homework assignment, Cooper loves helping younger students build confidence and find their "aha!" moments.
Francesca Ploumen Mortensen
Co-Founder & Tutor
Francesca believes that building confidence is the foundation of academic success. With experience tutoring students of all ages across a variety of subjects, she is passionate about guiding learners through challenging material. Francesca especially enjoys helping students overcome obstacles, strengthen their understanding, and grow in both knowledge and self-assurance.
Dana Meyer
Tutor
Dana is a high school junior and an experienced, patient tutor who works with students across a wide range of subjects, with a strong focus on geometry, math, and science. She has been tutoring since middle school and has extensive experience working with kids of all ages through both tutoring and babysitting. Dana is skilled at explaining concepts in clear, simple ways and adapting to different learning styles. Her goal is to help students build confidence and succeed.
